anybody use Ostrich software? Moates.net chip & adapter?

I am needing to do a custom tune on my 86' Iroc and have found some chips/proms and adapters from Moates.net for around $55 and my friend that tunes Hondas already has a BURN2 burner and Ostrich software. Anybody ever use this before??? Any info would be great, Thanks!

Yeah, lots of us use moates.net products, including the Ostrich, and Burn2.

What exactly do you want to know?

If your buddy is using Crome or similar Honda specific program, it won't be of any use to you. Tuner Pro RT would ne a better choice.

You will also need to use an ALDL interface cable, such as the ALDU1 "XtremeALDL".

Awesome, thanks for the info! I will check on the Tuner Pro RT and the cable. Will this be all I need along with the chip and adapter? Need to tune my engine and hopefully change the lock up point of the converter, it chirps the tires when I put it in gear and the IAC sensor don't do well trying to keep up with the idle when that happens, hope I can change all that? This is my first go with fuel injection, I am very good with carb tuning but electronics are my downfall

Re: anybody use Ostrich software? Moates.net chip & adapter?

Im using tunerpro rt and an ostrich.I dont have an aldl cable but I do have an original gm tech 1 scan tool so thats what im using to look at things while its running.

Id start reading..and re-reading the stickys about tuning.Im still new at it and havnt dipped into adjusting too much at one time.Start with the basics to get used to using everything..like playing with fan timing or iac at idle etc etc before touching anything major.Also..if you dont have a data logger..just write down things you have down and always have a backup copy of the bin before you make changes incase your not happy with something you can always go back and start over.

Overall I like having them ostrich instead of burning chips over and over.I do have a burn2 aswell so I can read chips from other cars and see what things others have done on similar setups.

I can brag I built a carputer where my deck is so that all tuning etc is done in the car hehe which makes it a very trick car

You need a ZIF adapter socket...a Ostrich, and ALDL cable.

You don't need all of this stuff though...to get started. There are cheaper methods. Like just buying a chip burner, ZIF adapter, and aldl cable....

Read the sticky's...they'll answer your questions..

Have any pics of your setup? I am doing the same. I'll have all my audio run of the carputer too.
