Best route for controlling forced induction?

So I've been out of tuning for a couple years and even sold all of my stuff awhile back. Now I'm going to rebuild my engine, stay TPI (CA remember lol) and go with a ProCharger.

I remember the last time I looked into doing this like 5 or 6 years ago, a SyTy ECU was a good option along with a 2 or 3 bar MAP (I have a 92), and so fourth.

Anyway, what is the cutting edge today for controlling a boosted TPI engine?

At this point I don't even know if I should stay with the old batch fire system. I've seen the OBDII sequential fire upgrades and they are very temping but I'm sure if they are right for me. I also know there are complete aftermarket systems out there but I'm not wanting to spend that much.

I do know that I want an ECU solution and NOT depend on an FMU. I will have one under my hood that looks hooked up for C.A.R.B. purposes when I smog but that's it lol.

Thanks!

code59 is the way to go with boosted motors.

as far as the batch-fire issue: SFI is meh. i converted my 95 monte carlo from SFI to MPFI and didn't have any kind of loss of power or driveability or fuel economy. emissions probably suffered, but i honestly don't care too much about that. i'm still running a cat and all emissions controls.
