Tuner Pro RT shutsdown and bad checksum update
Back in the fall of 09, I had started doing some BIN editing, because my mail order stuff wasn't working. I am working on a BJYL file for a 95 suburban, I have a chip header and downloaded the BIN through a Burn 1 unit. Then the laptop I was using crashed and I lost everyhting and my copies of Datamaster, Tuner Pro, etc.. Datamaster was not available until last week due to a windows 7 upgrade. I downloaded Tunerpro RT v4.14.0381.00 down on to my desk top running Windows 7 and my laptop running Windows XP. I tried to look at a BIN on the Windows 7 machine. I selected a definition (OD_V1_02), then a BIN(the original BJYL) but some where in between there and trying to look at a constant; it said this app has an error and must close. I figured it was a Windows 7 problem so I tried the XP machine, but it did it also. I tried to open up something again and on the second try it worked on the laptop with XP. I edited my BIN file and went to SAVE AS another name. When I did it said it could not update the check sum. I have not had that error in the past. I made the same edits previously before the other laptop crashed. How do I deal with these issues. I posted this on the Tuner Pro community site and have not gotten a response. Can I use a BIN that didn't update the checksum? How do I make it update correctly?
Thanks, Charles

Re: Tuner Pro RT shutsdown and bad checksum update
Hey Six shooter, long time no talk. How is your Z running? I am welding in patch panels in one on the rotisserie. I have some more info on my checksum issue. I downloaded the stock BIN from the EPROM about a week ago. I started looking at it closer today and a lot of values are 0 so I pulled up a spark table and it is like -81.5 across the board. So I assumed I did something wrong in the downloading. I used another machine, flash n burn and a burn 1 to read the chip agian, while reading the directions from Moates. The BIN I read off the chip today is the same as the one I downloaded the other day. So I assume that means my stock EPROM is toast? Does soliciting a stock BJYL constitute PROM begging? I haven't found one on any of the sites I have searched (95 suburban, 2 wd, 4l60e, 350 ci). I know the fuel tables will have to be reworked but the spark tables should be a good starting point and all the transmission stuff should work for a while.
Thanks, Charles

Confirm the bin file is not read only or in a folder you do not have permissions to modify files. That has bit me before.

If trouble persists, send me the bin file and XDF file you're using and I'll set you straight.
