I cant seem to D/L it. Figured it out -right click save as. Cant wait!
I was just about to ask how we convert out ads to adx but I see it.
One thing I found, it wont let me select the com port I need. Preferences - Data Acq. / emulation - Com Port, it has 5 and 7 but not 6. Should I go back and set my cable to COM5 in my device manager? Craig told me over the phone to change it to Com 6.

Of course there is a special service fee, the consultation fee, the export fee, renewal license, waterboarding fee, planning fee, reservations fee, TAXES including Sales, usage, property etc, delivery charge, postage and handling, and of course Mark's kickback
Additionally this product (In some patients) may cause loss of sleep, Euphoria, loss of hearing while concentrating, and some have experienced a sensation that lasts longer than 4 hours!!!! No need to see a doctor.
Please, only use while driving.

Once I get everything smoothed out better, I'll get my files out so all can play with them. Right now they are not really setup good for general use. I even have trouble forgetting what doesn't read what it should because of "trying things" and forgetting to put them back for next time.

Very nice, the program has a more professional look or maybe it's just my new laptop. Differently know the load screen looks better being blue. He still has not done what I have been asking for.
I want to be able to put a picture of my car in the workspace background, o well.

Won't connect at all or just flashes data on/off?
Cammand string should be the same as before, confirm it didn't get correupted on converting or something.
If it is flashing on/off and red in the connect indicator it could be the command is repeating too quickly.
Adding a new item under commands called "delay" and set it to 20 mS.
Add this into your connection macro at the beginning.
If that gets the connection working reduce the delay time to the minimum you need. I found the AutoProm and my laptop work well at 2 mS but my test bench with a Mastach cable and desktop computer need at least 6 mS or data is FUBAR or won't connect. Just need to wait before repeating the command to send data.
In playing around with this delay, I didn't see any data speed decrease until above 40 mS delay and by 100 mS the data rate was down to 5 Hz.
If it still doesn't want to work you can get "Free Serial Port Monitor" and watch the communication that is happenning. Might indicate what the problem is.

I did import the ADS, but forgot about the ports. I guess I was used to get in the car and go.
Just checked: wasn't even set for AutoPROM.

3. Define your Injector Base Pulse Width value (as you normally would, as it's outputted in most streams)
4. Define a value that is a constant that represents your injector flow rate. The conversation equation for this value would be a constant, e.g. "22.5" (lbs/hr)
5. Define the new MPG value.
For the MPG conversaion equation, use:
X/(C*0.0000212*Y*Z)
Where:
X = Vehicle Speed
Y = Engine Speed
Z = Base Pulse Width
C = Injector constant (lbs/hr)
Link up each variable to its appropriate value (argument type for everything will be "Linked Output").
This will be a rough number. To tweak it, you would generally tweak your injector constant defined in the ADX in step 4.
I've attached an example ADX that has only the MPG and dependent objects defined.

Forgive my ignorance. What do I need to do to create a dash like that? Visual Basic or something? I see there is a drop down for choosing dash configurations, but I can't figure out even how to save the generic dash I've modified.

As stated in the End-user license agreement, I do not condone the use of TunerPro's real-time features while driving by yourself. Use a helper. Don't crash your car. It's not fair to the guy you hit, or to the car.

Love the interface changes...thank you!!! I am getting errors while connected as well. I'm able to datalog but I'll get garbage data every so often. I'm using a homemade max232 circuit..not having any problems with TP v4 on the same laptop.

Just to make sure, to add a pause I add a "Listen for Silence" command, set the timeout to a value and then add this command to the end of my macro?

By the way, anyone looking for an adx should go to moate's site and download Robert Saar\'s TPv5 ADX Pack 1 (E8,DF,DA2,A1,88,70,62,61,31T,8E,F0,8D,4E,2E,1F,3A).zip. No $6E though.

The parentheses are necessary for operator precendence. Notice that there are variables in the denominator of the equation. If any of those are 0, the equation resolves to infinity, as expected. That is what the output that you mention means. If you start the engine such that none of the variables are zero, it should work.

I'm having issues exporting my LC-1 info into .cvs. While driving, the TP dashboard reads the same as my WB gauge, but the spreadsheet shows a constant value for the entire log.
Any idea where I'm messing up?

I probably should have mentioned that I'm running $6E and using one of the AutoPROMs extra channels to log the AFR info. I'm also using the LC-1s facotry settings; should this make a difference?

Just one more thumbs up for a job well done. I'm sure liking changing dash board colors for night view. The all black screen was probably predictable.
Just one thought about that - would I be the only one that would like to copy my dash board layout to a new name, so I could make minor changes. This way I don't have to manually enter in the layout of each gauge, when I want to have 2 dash board that are almost identical, but with a only minor changes. If I could save a dash board and then modify it.
Is there a way to change the font size on the dash boards? My netbook screen is kind of small, and I am kind of old and blind.

would like to copy my dash board layout to a new name
Create your "dark" dash the way you like it.
Create another dash with one item in it and name it as you want the new one.
Save the file.
At this point make a copy of your original in case things go wrong.
Open the file in notepad,
Find the "dark" dash and highlight/copy the text (be careful when you do this to see where the beginning and end of the dash definition is)
Start at the

Then find the "new" dash and overwrite the contents by highlighting the existing text and pasting your copied text. Again, start at the line with "<entrycount>"
Be sure none of the original items in the dash are left.
Erasing the text after "bottom = 00" will make all gauges go back to default colors (light)
Leave the space then /> at the end.
Just note how the structure is and you'll be fine. Sounds like allot of work but is quite easy once you try.
This will give you Day/Night view by selecting the dashboards.

While editing outside the enviornment is not supported, I have found a quick way to do this.
Create your "dark" dash the way you like it.
Create another dash with one item in it and name it as you want the new one.
Save the file.
At this point make a copy of your original in case things go wrong.
Open the file in notepad,
Find the "dark" dash and highlight/copy the text (be careful when you do this to see where the beginning and end of the dash definition is)
Start at the item until the last item in the dash is selected.

Create your "dark" dash the way you like it.
Create another dash with one item in it and name it as you want the new one.
Save the file.
At this point make a copy of your original in case things go wrong.
Open the file in notepad,

Thanks, Wasn't thinking how easy it would be to manually edit the ADX file. Simple solution. Its not like a feature I would use a ton, but just save time under the initial set up.
Just noticed on other oddity. When not running the dash in full screen, it will not stretch the dash all the way to the menu area. There is a grey space between the top of the dash and the menu display. Not sure if it is because of my odd screen resolution of this netbook or some other reason.
Is there a way to display the dash and the monitors at the same time? I have found myself pausing playback and flipping between dash and monitor to read exact values.

If you want to maximize the viewing area of the Dash or any of the tabs, double click the tab window's title bar. Hit ESC to exit that mode.
You cannot view the dash and monitors at the same time.

Forgot to mention that once you understand the structure of the ADX file, you can do some other things that are not yet available via the setup dialogs.
I made three sets of monitors to allow viewing of many items together.
Again, hand editing is not supported so Please don't send Magnus complaints if your file gets boogered up from doing these things. Even though definitions have been in use for years doesn't mean they don't contain errors from the get go. Comparing to old files from different sources is a good way to see if your definition was changed somewhere down the road and investigate what the true equation should be.
If something doesn't seem to work right, verify it will/will not work with a different definition loaded before reporting. Just trying to help keep bug reports as true issues and not definition related.

Something else I just thought of (sure is easy for use to think up more work for Mark) In the calculations, is there a way to input previous sample value? In other words, RPM (current sample) - RPM (previous sample) or speedo. This would make it easy to quantify a change RPM. The end result would be a suedo dyno value. One could measure acceleration rates and compare with previous runs. While translating it to accurate torque/HP ratings may be questionable, it would function very well to compare one run to the next when make tuning changes. For those of use who can't afford dyno time, it would help tune WOT more accurately.

I also plan to add the ability to trigger calculations. Think 0-60 times, HP, etc.
Thinking up work for myself is indeed easy to do for me as well.

just getting back into the game here.
7730 setup.
trying to use a extreme aldl cable just to do some dataloging right now. and TP5 wont connect.
Im getting hardware not found. but if I go under pref.and text for valid interface using setting. the cable checks comes out ok.
maybe Im just overlooking something i use to use an autoprom and v4 on my buddys car just fine.

in pref. ya if i change the com port it wount validate the cable. or if i change the type.
If I put in on standard serial and com 3
It finds and validates the able just fine.
but when I try the auto detect hardware or even the aquire data (connect/disconnect) I get nothing.
like I said prob. something stuip im missing. Im use to the autoprom and v4.
Dashboard isnt showing anything either. again prob. me. I know in V4 I could get the boxes up on screen even with key in the on position to verify tps voltage , etc...
Gonna mess with it again tomorrow. I know the ALDL is fine also used the code key to make sure its pulling codes and fine.
