TCC not locking with new bin
I burned a new chip based on the APYP bin. This is for a '165 ecm 350 tpi camaro, $6E tdf. I have used an ARAP based bin for years, but recently needed to switch to APYP, for other reasons. So I copied over all my current bin values to the APYP, and off I go. But the TCC does not lock at all with this new bin. I double checked all TCC tables and constants, and thought I got them all correct. There was one constant, "TCC unlock time", which as 0 secs in APYP, but 2.90secs in my ARAP. So I thought that was it, but still no lockup. With a 350 auto, you really need the TCC to lock.
Now I know the APYP bin is for a 6-speed manual car, Corvette perhaps, and the ARAP is for 350 auto. So I wonder if there is any other hidden details in the APYP, preventing lockup. I need this to work. I used Tunercat and Tunerpro for editors, they each have their uses.
Please help, Mike

Re: TCC not locking with new bin
Yes, there are two variables that need to be changed to go from a stick cal to an auto cal.
At: $C016 ; 2 = 0 for TCC, 1 for Shift Light
Bit 2 needs to be cleared.
At: $C014 ; 2 = NO/NC option bit for 4th gear switch
Bit 2 needs to be set/unset dependent upon the 4th gear switch
And, (OK, that's 3 variables), at: $C579 needs to be set to 0
RBob.

Re: TCC not locking with new bin
Ok Rbob, thanks. I will have to look for those address. Seems like it would be simpler to go from manual to auto or vice versa changing base bins. I been going thru all constants and flags in TP, and was hoping to get it nailed down. There were 4 high speed limit constants, that were set to 0 in the APYP bin, and set to 255mph in my latest working bin. So once I changed those, I thought I got it. Today with the new bin, the TCC did lock, but would not stay locked, and was bouncing around. I need to get this licked soon.

Re: TCC not locking with new bin
You may need to set all of the TCC terms to get it correct. Be careful as having the TCC lock/unlock under load is hard on it.
Would be OK to do a mass copy of the TCC calibration area over to the new BIN.
What I posted above is just to get the calibration to know that there is a TCC and not a shift light. Setting up the TCC lock/unlock points is another step.
RBob.

Re: TCC not locking with new bin
Well I am looking at everything related to the TCC/shift light. I am using the compare feature trying to get it all correct. I dont have those address you mention. My bin goes from 0 to 3FFF, i think that is only 16k bits.
NO/NC option bit for 4th gear switch, i see that bit, and it was correct.
Dont see the flag for TCC or shift light.
Keep the ideas coming.

Re: TCC not locking with new bin
Well I looked at those addresses, and they dont make sense.
$0014 is "use filter for air flow" and set to 80
$0016 is "Calc BPW (dont use table)" and is set to 40
$0579 is unknown, and it is set to 00
What bin are you looking at? I am using the APYP, $6E tdf, for '165 ecm.
