go to Tools->ECM Swich Table and remove swich for code err 43 Knock Diagnostic

The only way that I managed to completely eliminate the knock retard system was to cut the brown wire where it goes into the knock module. I put plugs on it so I can plug it back in if I want. This is on an '89 with MAF though, not familiar with SD so yours might be totally different.
