HELP! PP USB won't program custom Bin

OK,... I copied a bin for a friend to compare to stock bin.
I tried to burn this bin with an erased chip (stock EPROM) and the pocket programer USB (21v)
keeps giving me the"device did not program" error.
Could this bin be altered as to "block" copying?
What do I do now?
This is for a 90 TBI 383 vortec motor
Thanks!
I can read the bin in tunner cat.
OK,...I checked my PP USB by burning a TPI program (different chip and program
with no problem) (12.5v)
OK,..Did PP USB voltage test ... all voltages test in range with digital volt meter.

Re: HELP! PP USB won't program custom Bin

I talked to Xtronics and they advised me to use the new CMOS style chip.
I understand the 2732A is the "chip from hell". I ordered the 27C32A which is more robust and less sensitive to things like static discharge etc...
I'll let you all know how it goes.

Re: HELP! PP USB won't program custom Bin

Got my 2732A eprom from Xtronics today. Programed fine. The chips i was using were bad. I still wonder if there is another way to check the eprom other than burning.
When you're a noob sometimes the obvious is missed.
