ALDL to Laptop connector

I found this schematic for an aldl to laptop connector, I want to make one for my 86 Z28 TPI, is this the right setup for it?

That's an over-complicated schematic.

There are more simple MAX232 circuits, and also two transistor circuits that will also work.

I built a simple MAX232 circuit myself, and it worked fine.

Here is the circuit I built:

I have a 9V battery installed in the box and can be powered on it's own.

where did you guys get the parts for these, I found the 10k and the 100k resisters, but couldn't find and thing else,the only thing radioshack had was the 100k, I found some 10k on some old computer boards, where do i get the bc547b, and the Z 8v2, and the 27k resistor?

I bought them on an electronic shop here in Sweden. (they dont ship outside sweden orelse you could have bought from them..)

You maybe need to go to some specialstore in US ?
It must be found in the US to, you guys have everything overthere
