O2 sensor mounting

Do you guys think it would be a bad idea to mount my narrow band o2 sensor upside down? I'm asking because on my turbo down pipes there really isnt a good place except way down stream or on the underside of the pipe.

Re: O2 sensor mounting

Probably not a good idea (upside down that is). Although it may last for a long time. What would kill it is if any water ran down the pipe while the sensor was hot. The water being from combustion.

If you could place a small dam in front of it to divert water, that would be enough to protect it. Maybe even make the O2 bung fitting with an extension on it. That would place a shield around the sensor tip. Kinda' like a spark plug anti-fouler.

RBob.
