newbie has couple of questions on aujm bin

I.m new to this so maybe someone will help out. Have an 87 stock l98. I Had leaking injectors so i installed some new 24# blue tops. I downloaded an AUJM bin, which seemed to be the best match for an l98, 327 gears etc. I have disabled VATS set the injector constant to 24# everything else i've left alone however i did burn 2 chips one with the cooling fan n/o req input set to n/o and the other not set, i assumed this may be necessary from some of the ARAP discussions i've read. This is my first automotive chip burn so i don't want to mess anything up. Also i burnt the bins on my emp20 to a 27c512 and started the program at C000 is that correct for a 16k bin on a 512. My concern is the threads that talk about the spark tables being very mild. Has anyone ever compared the AUJM spark tables to the stock 87 which is ABWN any advise here greatly appreciated ! I just want a close to original setup as possible until i get a better handle on this DIY tuning
Thanks

Re: newbie has couple of questions on aujm bin

About the fan setting, this controls 1 of the cooling fans. I can't remember if you should check it or not but the only thing it will hurt is the fact that the first fan will not turn on or it will stay on. If the fan doesn't act right just change the setting.

The 512 chip should start at c000 or 8000, you can look on www.moates.com at that chip and it tells you in the discription(sorry but I can't access it from work)

The spark tables will work fine but may not have the very best tune for performance. You can compare the 2 bins and even copy the one you want to use. I don't see any reason why either one would cause a problem.

Hope this helps a little.

Re: newbie has couple of questions on aujm bin

Thanks for the info. Installed it today car fired right up! It set a maf code on my snap on scanner then i realized i still had it set for an 87 (only after swapping in my spare MAF) set scanner to 89 cleared code no problem. I did forget to disconnect the cold start circuit but i will do that in the am and see how its starts cold with the 89 code, i've heard it takes a while longer but it seems to work fine on my S10 305 tpi
Thanks again and hope to learn more...
