165 ecm: Digital MAF anyone?
Is anyone running a late model 3" digital maf and maf translator (turbo buick style) with a 165 ecm?
There is a switch in the $32, $32B, $6E masked bins to use analog or fm digital MAFs. I'm curious if anyone here has done this before.
It would appear that a modern (slimmer) GM 3" MAF would be easier to package into my supercharger discharge tubing than the bulky tpi style MAF.
For now I'm running a custom "Mafless" tune with good results, but I may want to work a MAF back in to the system someday.
It seems like this approach could be easy enough.
Any thoughts?

I did it with an old crusty TBI ECM, so it can be done. Ran fairly well for what it was. If you set things up right, you can trick the ECM into seeing up to 512 grams per second of fuel. It will cost some resolution, but youll be able to fuel your setup. Also keep in mind that the late model MAFs have their limits, too. Most will go up to around 420-450 grams per second before they max out at 12 kHz. Its also possible to reprogram the ECMs to use a big 16 bit MAF table rather then the six tables with all the scalars. Its a lot less cumbersome. Dont know if anyone is working on it yet, though.
