Commanded AFR vs actual AFR at WOT...
Just wondering how important it is to have your commanded AFR (tables) match your actual AFR as recorded from a WB O2. I know many folks here using WBs, and I think most people trust them. I have the IM LM1, with it permanently installed in my ride.
At a recent 1/4 mile track session, I logged several WOT AFRs in the 13.3 to 13.8 range. I didnt get any laptop data, since I had some problems with it. But my commanded AFR was 12.41 as calculated via the 2 tables. I know I am supposed to be around 12.5 for optium WOT AFR, so i got some work to do. I think I can fix that.
I did recently read (and re-read) the sticky above about the infamous AFR tuner program, and it's uses. Bottom line is that the actual #s in the AFR grid dont really matter, just change the #s to get the correct AFR as recorded from WB.
But there are ways to adjust other things to get the commanded closer to the actual. How important is this? I am running a 165 MAF ecm, so I imagine I have to hit the MAF tables and scalers at the higher load/airflow areas.

I tune after my WBO2, dont spend much time thinking what commanded AFR is in the bin.
You can aldo increase AFR via temp in some codes in PE mode.....
