Starting over with EBL

Was running a PROMinated ECM with a WB02 and tune I had worked on -- good enough to pass ca smog. I decided to upgrade to EBL and now have the Zeitronix WB02 connected as well.

Should I try to incorporate my old fuel, spark, and constants from the previous bin into the EBL.bin ? or just start with the included EBL.bin changing a few things like BPC and TCC and go from there.

Re: Starting over with EBL

When I swapped over, I took the time and transferred all the numbers that I could match up. Some tables had more resolution, for those I calculated them and put those numbers in. Kinda fill in the blanks.

Worked pretty good. I believe you will like the EBL/ZT-2 combo. Makes it all SO much easier.

I love the ZT-2/EBL combo, they work great. It's like cheating

Ahh, thanks. It made sense to me as well to plug in the numbers I had and average them out across the rest of the high resolution tables. I was just unsure if a VE of 55% in the ebl code would be the same as a VE of 55% in the past.

How far did you got with the transfer -- i.e. did you copy over the IAC, PE, AE, etc. settings ? It's the Ultimate TBI code . . I didn't think it wise to move the stock settings too far away from home base ?

Re: Starting over with EBL

I copied everything over that I could find a match for. Spark, PE, VE, IAC, Inj. constants, o2 gains, etc.

Mine is a truck BBC application, and there are some differences, from my stock setup. It ran asynch, and EBL is synch, but it was close enough to run, decently, and a couple of Learn VE's got the rest real close.

I want an Ostrich, but gotta replace the gov-lock setup in the differential with something that will hold. Mine broked.

Re: Starting over with EBL

I shattered the Gov-lock in my TPI powered 92 K1500 a few years ago. The truck was a 5-speed at the time (I swapped in a 4L60 last year) and I hung 2nd a bit to hard and tore the carrier clean in half. What a mess that made in the street. Oops!

My advice, go with an Eaton Limited Slip and don't look back. That's what I did and it is so much nicer then the old-gov lock. My gears were busted up too, so I went with Yukon gears from Randy's Ring and Pinion. Nice and quiet.
