16168625 ALDL knock?

I can't find anything in the ALDL info for the 16168625 $E6 mask for knock counts. Does any one know what bit is used?

Off the top of my head, only the final knock retard SA is transmitted thru the ALDL.

Knock retard is not reported via the ALDL datastream on the $E6 mask but it can be added. In the $0D datastream, knock retard is output in byte 56 of the engine datastream. In the $E6, byte 56 is desired AFR. In the hex editor in TunerPro, if you go to L524F and replace the $6C with $0F and then use the $0D (A217) datastream definition, you will see knock retard in byte 56. HTH

I'm curious to know this too... I got my datastream file from another guy on here and it has the knock retard in there already, but it stays at 22 or so degrees. is this just a reference the computer uses to say "this is how much I'll take out if I have to", or does it only give a number when it is actively taking out timing. I also have a stream for "ECU counts from last loop" Is that knock count?

What datastream definition file are you using? I suspect it is the wrong one if it has knock retard defined. What you are probably seeing is desired AFR but it is not bieng displayed correctly since your datastream definition file thinks that knock retard should be in that byte. Did you perform the mod I posted earlier? If so, knock retard should be displayed correctly provided you are using the $0D (A217) datastream definition. HTH

Re: 16168625 ALDL knock?

This is an old thread but I hope someone can still help. What is the location of L524F? When I open the hex editor in tunerpro the actual data starts at 00004000 and ends at 0000FFF0 and they all end in 0. There is no L524F. Maybe the program changed since that was posted? I really need to know cause I want to watch for knock.

Re: 16168625 ALDL knock?

I found it. I feel really stupid now.
Can I use the $0D ads file for all of my data logging? it has a few things that my $E6 one doesn't like rpm. Does anyone have a newer xdf file for the $E6? The one I have is from Moates and I have another from the tunerpro website and they seem to be missing some things.
