Sync LC-1 and ALDL data?

Just got my LC-1 up and going running solo logging straight to the laptop, works great. I'm logging ALDL data with winaldl while logging WB O2 at the same time with Logworks2. The two work fine but are not in sync. Winaldl will start automatically when the engine starts but Logworks must be started mannualy so there is a few seconds bust in the time line between the two. Going back and trying to overlay the data is a PITA this way. Is there a way to sync these two programs so they are more usefull?

I use excel to sync my logs. You can make a template, where you just copy and paste both logs into the right places, and then adjust one number to slide the WB log into place (matching DFCO points to the narrowband, or MAP, is my preferred way).

If there's a better way, I'm ALLLLL ears (or eyes). I have to do it soooo much too.

Actually, I'll probably have our software engineer write a way to make it talk to the same log file. Innovate has software available to download to do somthing like this, I think.

Re: Sync LC-1 and ALDL data?

I wrote some code into the PCM that reads the WB in from an unused input and sends it out through the ALDL in place of some other useless item that I dont need to see. Its a fairly short routine. Its not a hard mod, provided there is an input available and theres some addressable prom space for a patch. With winALDL, though, its far too slow to be useful and the code is stuck on the ROMs on the main board if you have TBI, so you cant easily patch the code.

I can post the routine if anyone is still interested. It would have to be adapted to the ECM its being used on.

I'm interested but it sounds like it may be out of my computer skill range so I'm not sure if it would help men or not. May help others though.

WinALDL is so slow the data will be almost useless. What ECM are you using that you can only log at 160 baud?

Is this question directed to me? It's a 7747 at 4800 baud if I understand this.

I think WinAlDL only logs at 160 baud, a la 1 frame per second, regardless of what speed the ECU is capable of. Even an 8195 baud-capable '165 will log at 160 on WinALDL last time I checked.

OK, I got it. Yes your right, about 1 log per second.

Or is there a better way? Could you log data with Tuner pro and could TP be setup to recognize the LC-1 WB? I'm sure it would be best to buy all the fancy stuff from innovate but that's more $ than I want to spend right now.

May I ask how this is done when the LC-1 samples 10 times per second and the aldl data is (at least mine) once per second? When I copy and paste The correct values don't line up.
