Atmel AT29C256 or equivalent
I have been doing a great deal of reading lately about burning my own EEPROM. Most of my information has come from this site, which I thank you. However, I have been looking for a few days and still cannot find info about using the atmel IC's. I have found links to programmers but I believe those are for the EPROM and not the EEPROM type. So could someone please point me into the right direction for a programmer for the atmel type IC's.? I currently was provided a 27SF512 from a tuner. If I find a programmer for one will it work the other??

Pocket Programmer II has worked flawlessly for me for the last 5 + yrs.
I use 29c256 with it, although they are getting hard to find so people are using the 512's instead. Have to change the offset or stack the bins, other than that, its the same.
