new to WB prolly a dumb ?
Ok well Ive been searching and searching this whole WBo2 thing with little luck in understanding the set up. I understand it gives you more accurate readings esp for WOT, which is what IM trying to tune. I eralize many say this is a must, so Can anyone enlighten me on how to hook one of these bad boys up? I've been looking at the bosch sensor, what else would i need ? thanx

We could prolly help you out more depending on what wideband setup you are using
There are 3-4 I could name that use the bosch sensor.
Stickies have all types of info concerning what mods u need to do chipwise to patch in the wideband stream.

The most straight forward way to learn the basics of the WBO2 stuff is to:
1) go to the Innovative (or other WBO2 controller vendors) sites and read the FAQS
2) Download the instruction sheet so you know what wiring and exhaust bung mods are involved.
3) If you burn your own chips and have the equip then dowload a patch so that your ECM can read the WBO2. If you don't burn chips then buy an aftermarket logging software tool with the WBO2 or just a guage.
4) Once you get it installed, search here on how to tune your engine and post what you are seeing for WBO2 readings and how the car seems to drive.
You could start searching here but the info is all mixed up with other info and will be more confusing at first.

You need a wideband controller. As mentioned there are several options these days including AEM, Innovate Motorsports, Zeitronix, FJO Racing, PLX Devices, FAST, Tech Edge, etc. Many of these are available with a bung and sensor included. Check out any/several of the above vendors to read up on WBO2's.

The sensor operates at high temps., so there's a heater that's tricky to design to give it a quick warm-up.
NGK is one of the suppliers for WB sensors, and here's their web page.

There also the Innovative, that sells both a LM-1, and LC-1. A quick google will get ya to their home page.
The LM-1, and NGK have their own displays, and analog outputs. So you can use just the guage, or datalog if you want.

my LC1 did have failures of the sensor which i would suggest was user error. the sensor is very sensitive when hot and sees cool condensation or a starter voltage spike and most importantly left on overnight when i forgot to turn off now it is wired permanently and correctly so none of the above will never happen and i have been successful and ran for entire season daily with no problems.

Good link for the NGK WBO2 controller. I looked at it before but had forgotten how well they did describing/documenting it in the instruction sheet. Being able to run either sensor is worth the extra 100 clams. I would imagine that their control algorithm is as good or better than any other controller. I did like the Megasquirt PWC Kalman filter thing but it looks like the module will probably never happen. For $300, this NGK looks like the best bang for the buck.

well i like the ngk, but what makes a controller what you want I thought you could just wire the wb in place of your nb and be just a ok but i guess not wasn't wanting to spend 300 bux but from what i see if i do spend the dough the ngk would be my best bet

Check out the Innovative unit. It has an output that simulates a NBO2. My preference is to get the most accurate, most reliable controller for the money. Since the NGK appears to come with a guage and a linear Vout signal (not NBO2 looking). I just want the Vout so the gauge comes for free I guess.
It sounds like the Innovative or others would work better for you if you want a NBO2 output.

Yes, a night and day difference between the NBO2 and WBO2. The $200 Innovative and others is still well worth the money. It will save you a bunch in gas if you tune with it.
