Noob BCC questions (8746 w/ AXKW)
As the subject says, I'm running an 8746 ECU with the AXKW bcc. I've noticed that this bcc is rarely ever mentioned and that ANLU seems to get all of the attention in the 8746 crowd. Should I be running the ANLU instead? I compared the two bins (from ftp.diy-efi.org) and there are 2674 bytes different, most of which are undefined in Jon's 61v2 xdf including essentially every byte from 055C on. Are these differences of any significance? The patch demos are for the ANLU bcc so the switch is desirable from that standpoint, but otherwise?
Also, what does "bcc" stand for?

The ANLU is for a 350 Auto from a B-body (Caprice). Probably the reason the ANLU is getting all the attention is because most of the people swapped their engine for a 350 and have an auto tranny.
The AXKW is for a 305 Manual F-body. So, if your car has a 305 manual, you want to use that bin as your base.
BCC stands for "BroadCast Code".

I'm running a manual tranny, so it sounds like I should stick with the AXKW? I'll just be the odd man out I guess

Not really. You can still look at the ANLU for ideas on the spark tables etc. I've always thought it is best to begin with your own "stock" bin as your starting point.

Thanks! Mine is a TBI conversion, so it's an AMC401 with the 8746 ECU and a 454 TBI (80# injectors). So the only part that matches up is the "manual" part Would you recommend a different bcc or is the AXKW a sufficient base for my application? I've been looking at the ANTZ code for the 454 manual, but obviously that's for a 7747 ECU. I like the IAT feature of the 8746, so I'm not anxious to switch (if I ever switch it'll be to the EBL setup). I don't have any complaints regarding the AXKW bcc, I just wasn't sure if I should be using one of the more popular codes to ease troubleshooting if nothing else.

I was an AMC fiend in my bad old days. I still have a soft spot in my heart for a 1970 AMX.
The problem you have with a 401 and a manual, neither the 7747 or 8746 is a great fit IMO. You'll need to do a lot of "cutting & pasting" between various bins. And then you have the rpm limitation.
Why not consider RBob's EBL system? It fixes all the limitations of both of those ECMs. Best of all, you can pick RBob's brain.

Send RBob a PM and have a chat with him. But for you application, I think RBob's EBL is a better fit IMO.

Thanks, I appreciate your AMC experience. I'd like a set of those 70 AMX heads, yum!
I have a spare ECU I could send him, I'll check it out again.
