WINALDL - New version again
And finally an new version again!
Ver 1.01a http://www.winaldl.webhop.net
* Spark table show actual knocks detected, not no of samples
when knock(S) was detected.
* Added highlight of active cell in tables
* If no of bytes is not correct in sample then only the raw
data table is update. This is to avoid garbage in other tables.
* Added 'heart beat' indication with no of bytes received. It
is allways visible at the top of the window. The background
flashes whenever a new sample is received. A short green flash
indicates good data. A short red flash indicates missing bytes
in data.
* Change O2 table data to three decimal values
* More flag data for 1227808

BTW, I finally got it to work. Problem was IRQ conflicts with the thinkpad. For some reason the inf. red port and modem took both IRQs (3 and 4) which left me with ZERO ports. IRQ 3 is usually Com 2 and 4 while IRA 4 is Com 1 and 3, lol, I had to spend 4 hours looking for a way to disable the darn IR and modem. Turns out I couldn't just disable them in the system, I had to download the "thinkpad features" utilities. Once I found them (an hour searching) it required me to do WAY more than I expected (floppy drive blah blah). Now I think I'm going to go oustide and try it for the first time. I'm sure it'll work.
Oh yeah, did anybody see the excel file that helps you tune BLMs with tunercat?
You just copy and paste the data from winaldl to excel, it converts the new numbers and then you just copy and paste it into your VE table in Tunercat. Looks pretty cool, hopefully this will speed things up.

And another thing ...
I made a lot of changes in the software, rewrote a lot of code.
If you see something strange then please let me now so I can fix it.
The CLCC definition is a bit different than the others an I suspect that it is one byte off. Could someone plese test that and see if the sensor data makes any sense? Check TPS and RPM and anything else that you can verify.

will the interface work with a DB15 to USB interface(like the one that comes with most joysticks these days? my laptop has no true serial port. two usb's and a firewire.) OR is it easier to just use the parallel port(is the software configured to use parallel?). Thanks.

It will not work with a USB to joystick interface.
The software only supports a serial RS232 port (DB-9 or DB-25). You can select which com port to use ( com1, com2, com3 or com4).
This USB to RS232 (DB-9) might work.
