winbin inj flow rate error?
Looking through some of the posts of people having trouble with winbin, and the most recent one of having trouble with the injector flow rate made me do some thinking. I came to the conclusion that the calculation used in the 730.ecu that comes with winbin is incorrect. The person wanted to set it for a 30 lb/hr inj which is 3.73 g/s or .268 sec/gram which should be a 0156 hex but winbin calculates it to 0268 hex. For AUJP it has a 01CC hex/2.79 g/s number (the 2.79 translates to 22 lb/hr). For a 305 bin it shows a 0202 hex/3.11 g/s number (which translates to a 24 lb/hr). If the calculation were correct it should show about a 2.4 g/s number for a 305 which would be about a 19 lb/hr. I see in a hac for the AHNT/$8D mask that the inj. flow rate is actually in (seconds/gram*256)*5 and then of course the hex equivalent. It appears the ecu in winbin has the calculation at inj grams/second*165 and then converted to hex. Now I hope this hasn't been covered before and I am not just wasting bandwidth here. Of course you can just do the conversion yourself and just enter the correct hex value at address $841C or at the editor window and ignore the g/s number but how can the ecu file be changed to have the correct calculation? It might save some aggravation to someone just wanting to make a simple change.

I posted about this close to a year ago on the DIY EFI mailing list - you should be able to find the discussion in the archives. Sounds like the error may still exist in some of the ECU files for the $8D.

Should I just eneter the number and ignore the hex?
What does the hex do anyway if the number is what I need for my 30lb injectors but the hex is wrong? Or will it adjust itself when I change the number?

Which ECU file do you use, I have seen at least two of them floating around, I belive the most correct one to be the one below, but since I use MAF and not SD myself I am not 100% sure. Maybe Glen knows?
