am i missing something

ok the pocket programmer is 150 bucks but it does not support windows ME and the other 2 programmers in traxion's article are well over 200 bucks. am i missreading this page as in does it come with all the other software like the editor and stuff? http://www.arlabs.com/syscost.htm
or is that still just for the programmer?
http://www.needhams.com/ that one is over 300 bucks.
can i use the pocket programmer with ME if i don't run anything in the background? i want to start burning my own proms but i don't feel like spending 400 bucks to get started.
thanks guys
Andrew

You could make a separate partition and boot to DOS.. I think Partition Magic or some other boot manager can do this for you.

Or even make a DOS boot floppy.

there are programs to allow multiple os's on one system, you can get em at any software store. or find em on the net.

Find a cheap laptop(<40bucks). You can set it up to run dos and only dos, then you can boot directly into the pocket programmer software. Thats how I have mine right now. Works great. I edit all of my bins on my Win2k box, then I put the latest bin on a floppy disk, copy it to the laptop that has the PP hooked up to and then program right from the floppy...
