the dash numbers are the speed of the chip, you can almost always go with a faster chip. the -70 chip will work. I think that the -120 will probably work as well but I dont recall of the top of my head how fast you are going to need.

I thought so, The -70 is even a little cheeper, 3.71 each, I am new to this and am going to start BURNING some of my own, I am getting geeked!!

I already have a DIACOM to analize, and a G-tech Pro for performance, And a 366 laptop Computer All I need are the Pocketprogramer, The Modified EPROM holder, I think I will go with Tunercat, and the cheepest Eraser I can find....

the AT29C256-12PC (120 nanoseconds), work wonderfully. I'm using them in a 7730 ECM Speed Density computer with no problems what so ever. Many people here use them with the same setup.

I've a few left that have never been burned, so if you only want a couple few, shoot me an email and we can work something out.

EDIT:: I just noticed that you are looking into the 27C256, and not the 29C256. Alot of us are using the 29C256 because it's a EEPROM rather than an EPROM. (meaning it's electronically erased rather than UV erased).

You will save money by not needing to buy an eraser.

BTW, the Pocket Programmer is an excellent choce. Many use it here, so you will have our support along with Xtronics support. Tunercat is wonderful too.

Ok, get a 29C256 and not a 27C256, what is the diff in price, granted if I save by not buying an eraser.

HOW then do you erase the EEPROM, the EPROM is UV erased, I got that, do you have to buy a special EEPROM eraser or does the Pocket Programer take care of this for you???

The AT29c256 are Flash Proms, not eproms. Do a search on AT29C256 , you will be able to read all that you need to know by using the archives.
