WinBin Question (Newbe)
newbe question of the month:
Ok, I just downloaded WinBin, and am looking at the Select ECM File. I downloaded a BIN, for an 87 TPI car and am having difficulty trying to figure out what ECM model I should use.
My selections are:
148.ecm
747.ecm
7730v3.ecm
86GN.ecm
89v3.ecm
or do I need another ecm file to read the TPI data, I know my ECM is a 1227165, but nothing looks remotely familiar.
help!!!

Its a .ECU file that you need. To my knowledge there are no *publicly* available .ECU files for the $32 and $32B calibrations. There is one for the $6E available on the thirdgen yahoo site. That information is in a past post on this board.

All Natural. No Force. No Drugs. Stock Bottom End. Stock Body Panels.
Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

How do you get the .ECU files?
1) Download them from the internet. GM FTP site has a $8D and the $6E. Thirdgen Yahoo site has the $6E.
2) Make one. Use the an existing ECU as a template and then make an ECU file for the calibration of your choice.
For the 165 ECM just use the $6E and the ARAP base code. Its the best starting point.
