(VERY detailed) Fried 1 ECM, experts with G2 Adapter and AT29C256 prom, please help..

Hi,
im not really a newbie nor a real experience tuner
i some how seemed to fir my ECM for what ever reason,
i have a 1988 5.0 TBI Camaro that had "8063" ECM (till i fired it)
i added a D1 24-pin DIP socket, G2 Adapter, S2 Aries 28-pin ZIF Socket, AT29C256 chip, (im running tunerpro RT 4.0 and burring chips with a Pocket programmer and using Pocket programmer 2 software - witch all works fine

i had my father desoader the stock prom pins, and soader in the 24 pin DIP socket, i put the G2 on with the ZIF, i save the stock bin then
edited it with tunerpro (adv. timing by 8*) i stacked the 4k bin making it a 32k file on the AT29C256 chip, loaded it on the PP2 software burned it on the PP - went out to the Camaro put the ECM in turned the key on i get a fast flashing SES so i burn another chip. same thing so i take the ECM out and had my father check it with his (digital meteor?) none of the lines where crossed like i was thinking, he pointed out that 4 of the ones he tested didnt read but its because the G2 board has 4 that don't connected to anything right? because its a 32pin chip and being adapted to a 24pin DIP right? anyway i put the ECM back in i take the G2 board off leaving in just the soder DIP i put the stock chip back in and i get a fast flashing SES again, so im thinking the boards fried so..

i headed out to a yard got a 7747 ECM (only one i could find) from a 4.3 astro van, got home took it all apart had my father do the same thing he did with the other 8063 ECM, this time i put the Stock astro chip in the DIP first connected the ECM turn the key on, and the SES go's on then off then on again, so we know this ECM is good so far, so i put the G2 board in the DIP with the burned bin for the 8063 and the CALPAK, tune the key fast flashing SES again, so i get a bin from a 7747 burn it then stock it in with the original CALPAK turn the key on again SES flashes!! so i now know im burring my chips wrong, i checked all the stuff that's hooked to the computer and the PP its self to see if maybe that fired, everything checked out good, so im going to need help with what bin to use with the 7747 ECM in a
original eqwitment (harness) 8063 Camaro and how to burn them right, im so confued with Moates offset diagram found here
http://www.moates.net/documentation.php?documentation_id=20
and i don't know how to stack the bins using that diagram so iv just been stacking them on the tunerpro RT making a 4k file a 32k file then burring it on the Pocket programmer and it comes out fine so im really lost as to what im all doing wrong, maybe all just save the bins as a 4k and stack them on the Pocket programmer but iv tried that like i said and im having so much trouble, so i attached a PIC with areos and if someone wants to fill in where stuff go's, i well so appreciate any help iv been really stump for sometime with this stuff

Thank you so much in advace!!

I wouldn't bother with stacking the bin files, just offset where you burn your bin to in the chip. You need to think of your buffer as your work desk. You have to upload your new bin file to the buffer. So you'll have a 4k bin file in your buffer, then you need to specify where to burn this bin onto the "device" or chip. I don't have my notes in front of me but Moates has a writeup of what start and stop addresses you need for each particular chip. You should be good to go then. I never had much luck with stacking the bin, I just used this offset burn methode and it saves a step in the process anyway.

I would stick with the 747 ecm, it's much better understood, and there is much more information available for it.

I think you had it right there.

File Size
Chip
Buffer Start -> End 000000 -> 000FFF
Chip Start -> End 007000 -> 007FFF

4k (4096)
AT29C256

That should load your 4K bin at the end of the chip and then go.
You might want to load the bin into TP first and have the checksum recalculated before burning if your program doesn't do that.
Any change will make an SES light if that is not done first.
HTH
I don't have that software so I can't tell you exactly what to set (fuzzy pic)

Thanks ya sorry for the fuzzy pics,
so where do they go ca you put thos vaules (numbers letter in the right sports for me)

on your right in the pic it says,

Buffer Start=00000
Device Start=00000
Device End=00000
Hex File Start=00000
Hex File End=3FFFFF
Hex Offset=00000

how do you recalculated checksum, or what vaules to set that to?

Thanks for your help

Checksum is calculated by adding up all the code.
Best to leave that to the program (TP does it automagically)
Just open the bin file and click save and its done.
Taking a stab at the values,

Buffer Start=00000
Device Start=07000 I think this is for the chip address start

Device End=07FFF I think this is the chip address end point
the Hex file start/end points "should" be the beginning and length of the 4K program. Looks like the values you have would be right.
Not 100% on it, I rely on my software to tell me where things go most of the time. I use a 32K on the 32K 29c256 so I have it easy.
For the Hex offset, you may want to look at the XDF file and see if there is an offset listed there. That might be the value that is keeping things from working.
