Question on tables that seem to override each other

It seems that some different tables would override each other…how do they work together? I am working with a 165 ecm and tunercat...with the 6E def file

Let me explain...
Ie…WOT%Change to fuel/air ratio vs rpm tables and WOT %Change to fuel/air ratio vs Coolant temp tables should override each other. How do they work together? It would look to me like at operating temp…~200^F the computer would always add 18% fuel(per my bin) to the mixture at WOT…why not just set the original base value up that way? Also…you have that 18% being added…what happens at WOT as the rpm increases as your going down the track…does that 18% get added to by another 18% increase(all values are going by my apym code I am looking at)? I'm pretty sure the answer is no…but I'm just trying to figure out how some of these tables that would seem to override reach other would work together.

Thanks a million!!

They are working with each other.

Think of it this way:
Just picking easy to see values

At 4dF CTS, it's AFR is 10:1, if you go to PE and it's 10% richer, then you'd be at 9:1 AFR.

One is %s and the other is AFRs.

Greg, I mainly just work with the RPM table. You can sorta fine tune with the RPM where as the Coolant table will be at all rpms at that particular temp.

A little late in responding, but just adding to what Grumpy and David said. Those 2 percentages are added together, but only at whatever coolant temp and RPM you're at. Those tables are only used when you're in Power Enrichment, even though TunerCat calls it WOT (which isn't totally accurate since you can hit PE before going WOT).

I first tuned the RPM table first to get the O2's to vary much less while ramping up through the RPM's. Now I'm playing with the coolant table at the temps that my engine operates at when I'm drag-racing (a constant 170-175 degrees) to move the whole PE curve down. HTH...
