VATS and speedlimiter needs to be removed
the VATS on my car is acting up and i have done the bypass but sometimes it still acts up. so i would like to remove it. so where in the prom is the area to change and what does it need to be changed to. also i would like to increase the speedlimiter limit to like 115 or so instead of 108. so where in the prom is the area to change and what does it need to be changed to.
its a 92 camaro 305 tbi.
TIA,

More information please. What editor are you using to modify the BIN?

UnderDog,
I have a lot more experience with TPI than TBI so hopefully the TBI guys will chime in with more help.
First off, you need a definition file for your 1228746ECM. I could not find a .ecu file on the GMECM site. Do any of you TBI guys know if the $42 TunerCat definition file will work with 746 bins?
Next, if the $42 definition file does work with your bins then you will need to .... ahem ... modify this definition file so that it has the appropriate entries for both the speed limiter and vats. I am assuming that you won't know how to do this. So - I can attempt to do it this weekend but #1 - I'm not sure if I will have time, #2 I can explain what I added but cannot guarantee that it will work as you need it.
Unless .... does anyone else here have a TBI definition file for the 746 that has both VATS and speedlimiter?

You will need a $61 calibration file to modify a 7746 ecu. Pablo was working on one but he stopped when he changed over the the 7747 which from what I understand has been completely hacked. I don't remember who he turned most of his work over too. Someone on this board got it though. Hopefully they can complete it. I'm no good with code or hacking So I hope they can and will be willing to share thier hard work. (I know I would be greatly appreciative) I'm just sitting back and absorbing all the info I can until that file becomes avaiable. until then I can't do anything to my chip. Check around the DIY-EFI board links. I'm pretty sure that's where I found my info on our 7746 ecm's. From what I understand they are superior to the 7747 as far as modifiable tables are concerned. But as far as baud rate they are both 160. If you get such an itch that you can't stand not being able to burn your own chip you can ditch your 7746 and switch to a 7747. It just take a little repinning or splicing and you are on your way. I'm not sure which one but I don't believe it is that difficult. I would imagine that once the 7746 is completely hacked they guys with 7747 will be repinning to switch to the 7746 just because it has a few mre options. Sorry this ios long winded but i just thought I'd fill you in ona a couple things I have picked up.
Later,
Lars
