Going to U-pullit yard on tuesday....who needs what??
Anyone need a ecm from the yard when I go? (my Wal-mart) For programming? Or how about a certain connector end or things to that nature. Now keep in mind I'm not gonna spend a million in there either sooooo. If you want a specific ecm I will look but you do the leg work and tell me what year/s and what models it came in and I'll look. If you want a connector BE SPECIFIC because they DO have seperate ones. Also when I cut connectors I usually only cut back about 6" or so.
Ecm's usually go for around 20 bucks and connectors very....usually only a few bucks. I do have about 7 or 8 ecms on lay-a-way out there (take em' out and hide em' till I make sure I dont need them) and I can check those numbers for sure. Now they do not have any memcals in them , I pulled them out when I was in my UV craze and erased them. And try and keep it 92 and down, comaros ,vettes, z28's really non existant but if the ecm was used on another car I can usually get luck a few times. Most of the parts a still cheap enough to get at auto parts store but its the little things like connectors and fittings that you cant get that just kill a build up.
Hope this ain't a bad thing for the moderators either, just a bunch of states dont allow people to have u pull its and Hell I'm going anyway plus its a way to try and give something back for those who gave me instruction.
OK let me know fella's

If you happen to come across an 90-92 F-body with a 350 -- Grab the memcal from the `7730 ECM
I'm sick of getting V6 chips, and there are no V8 f-bodies in the junkyards around here, and only the occasional smashed, or torched V6 F-body

Ok, They didnt have a the 7730 for the V-8. But I can still keep my eye out for one. I also didnt right down numbers of ECMs I got on layaway . Will do that next time.
But what did you need? The mem-cal pac or the calpak? The actual 2732A chip or the other one. Reason I say is because I did come accross a 7747 for a 90 or so full size van with both in it. I also thougt that the 7747 and 7730 both used the same boards or from what I went back and checked. OK I might be way out in left field here so tell me what the deally is, cause if you want a complete V8 7747/ASDK and another 7747 with AMUN on it we cant get it to ya'.

Here is a picture of the memcal I am looking for
This particular one is for a 3.1 V6, and is therefor useless to me, lol
What I am needing is one of these memcals from a 5.7 (350) V8, so it has the correct electronic spark timing circuitry, and the proper limp home mode chips under the EST circuitry.
And unfortunately, a 5.0 memcal won't work. It has the wrong programming for the limp home mode stuff, and the EST circuitry listens for a different frequency from the knock sensor to retard the timing.
If you find one of these from a 90-92 5.7 V8 TPI car (Corvette, Camaro, Trans-Am, GTA etc), grab the memcal, write down the broadcast code, hide it in a Ford or something and lemme know what the broadcast code is, if it checks out to be what I need, then I'd be very happy to pay you to get it for me
BTW -- You'll only find these chips in 1227727, 16198260, 16197128, and 1227730 ECMs.

Thats what I needed yesterday , I think there may have been an older transam (90's) there but now I'll have to make sure. HMMMMM....maybe I need to go make sure they're not having anymore sales today......lol......but there are no Vettes what so ever and the comaro's usually get stripped faster than granny's knickers on sex night.

Ok, latest and greatest on yard quest.
NO luck for the 7730 mem-cal. I looked at a butt load of 80-95 firebird, comaro and even caprice's with no luck. The funny thing is the ecms were still in em' but not any mem-cals like you wanted, just the eprom / calprom chips. I did find a 94 comaro with the ecm mounted in the egine bay on passenger side wheel well. The 2 caprice's I seen Im pretty sure had V8's in em' . Both were 90 something models. I'm still gonna keep an eye out for you......think I'll go back friday when they roll some new stock out. Plus after I took 3 HEI wiring harness's apart for the ignition control module stuff and looked for the 7730 it was closing time. I go when I get off and only have a little over an hour to look.

Well, I thought I had one for you but I got home and found that I had a 16197427/BJYM out of a 95 G20 van with a 5.7 liter. I have it with me but I see it wont fit your application . I'll keep looking though yet.

I really appreciate your help! But don't make yourself broke buying various chips for me
Just hide the chip somewhere in a plastic bag or something and write the broadcast code down, then you don't need to pay for it, and bring it home to find out it is the wrong thing, lol

Well, I suppose you won't be going broke, LOL
And to answer your question, nope, it won't be in a caddy. Only find them in a 90-92 F-body

This thread went downhill fast. You two are talking about stealing stuff. The junkyard is a great place to find stuff at fair prices. There is no need to do what you are doing.
I hope this gets locked.

Trust me -- I don't steal stuff from the junkyards around here -- and also why I've been wanting him to get broadcast codes there, so that the junkyard gets the money they deserve.
You will do that right man?
