okay fellas im tryin to get in a rough tune for my 91 305 tbi l03 so that when i put all the stuff on (see my thread in tbi if interested) ill be able to use this for break in and driving to and from work around five miles round trip, since this is my daily driver. im using tuner pro for modifing the .bin but the bin and xdf i got from moates.com seems to have tables that are blank. does anyone have a verified .bin and xdf file i can use to start learning and modifing to get a very rough tune. or can i get a link to one possibly im still brand new to burning but i am reading the faq. i just need a good bin and xdf for my car that i know is the one so that i can get started. thanks guys....john

 

which bin and xdf are you using? tell me the file name and where you got them from.
The xdf file $61 8746 TBI from moates.net should work with any 8746 bin. Even those that have been patched with the rev/code 43/iat "upgrades".

 

yeah i got them from moates but i think they came from diy-efi.org if i remember correctly i got that xdf and like three diff. supposedly stock bins and none r the same and one even has completly blank tables/graphs

 

Blanks usually signify a mismatch between the mask and bin.

what do u mean what names do u mean exactly what it was titled on the site cause if thats the case i dl all the ones they had for a stock l03 tbi which were only like two .bins i belive but they where both $61 mask

 

oh and they were both for the 8746 ecm i changed the names of the .bins to better remember them but the xdf was titled 61 for 8746_TBI.xdf and is 106 kb in size and i got it from moates i think like i said but it was posted on diy-efi.org if i remember correctly

 

what is that patch u r talking about and what does it do?? and r there more patches for my mask and ecm?

 

anyone got either of these id really appreciate it cause i got tuner pro and would love to start learnign some before i get goin w/ the rough tune!!

 

The patchs can be found in the stickies at the top of this forum.
As for the xdf file, I just downloaded it and it's working fine. You need to get different bin's if some are working, some not.
What bin do you need because I have just about all that are for the 8746 and I can e-mail them to you with the patchs.

 

well im not sure which one i need i thought that as long as it was a $61 mask for the 8746 ecm it would work cause i have a 91 camaro w/ an egine from an 89 bird...that would be great and ill read what the patches do. and do u have any bins that r modeled for headers, intake, cam around 450 lift, and mildly ported 081 heads...lol...probably not but it was worth a try to compare and get a rough tune cause as i said i will need a tune made before i ever bolt these on to the car so i can break in the cam and get to and from work till i can data log after break in thanks email is....spanky00185@yahoo.com thanks

Not true. The bin and mask have to match or you will get a bunch of zeros etc.
Hence the reason JP asked for the bin name.......

 

yeah thats why i was asking i just got the xdf and bin that said 8746 $61 l03 so i guess im not sure if i got the right one...like i said im sorry for all the newb questions but i have read the stickies a few times and thought i was gettin the right thing..if someone could please point me in the right direction or email me those .bins and .xdfs, and a bin they have already done for the above mods to possibly compare to see what u guys r changing then it will give me a decent start point to see how this stuff works. thanks guys

well im not sure at the moment some of the other stuff all i know is its an 89 ecm and engine out of a bird in my 91rs but ill check all that other good stuff out when i get my car back in about two weeks thanks fellas
