tunerpro 4.0 and ECM852 ALDL MAP values

I just tried out tunerpro 4.0 today with ALDL for the first time.
I noticed that at idle Tunerpro 4.0 reports a MAP value of 40kpa for my engine. ECM852 reports a MAP value of 50kpa.

Also, TP 4.0 reports an injector PW of 0.64ms and ECM852 reports 1.64ms. All other TP 4.0 values seem to match ECM852.

I am using the default TP 4.0 ads file for ALDL and a stock version of ECM852. Anyone else seem these differences.

Using Win98SE and TP 4.0 locks up when I click the icon to bring up the "monitor" or the "dash" views. I completely locks the laptop (crtl-alt-del won't work) and freezes everyting. Anyone know of a missing DLL or something like that?

Thanks,
J

What kind of setup you running this on Junk?

Mine on a 730 SD TPI 350 had screwups with the pulsewidths values as well. I didnt notice the map values but I may retest later if it goes above freezing here.

Mangus mentioned that the ecu/xdf was wrong for my app and thats why i was experiencing the questionable inj. pulsewidths.

This was with the 730 ECM using the .ads file that comes with TP 4.0.

Try my new def on the Moates site, not sure about Map value - copied it, But I am sure I have the inj pulse width nailed down - spent hours. A comparision from data master would be apriciated. I am sure I could fix the Map if it is a proplem, I would of compared with data master if I could get connected, I am running autoprom usb, data master will not connect without a usb adapter to my laptop.

I had problems posting here I did not know wich extension to use. For now it is on the Moates site, go to downloads, data stream, First Gen 1227730 I did not zip it, I am a little computer poor with the basic windows type stuff. If some one gives me a lesson in extensions I will post here.

I am hoping we get the map problem verified, I did do a little blm tuning to 128 in the ve table and do remember it did not come easy, maybe I was edditing the wrong cell. I would not be suprissed if there is a problem here, there is a offset and a multply factor in the def that I don't know were it is coming from. I tryed what I thought would be logical #s and I don't come close to a realistic MAP value. If it wasn't snowing I would verify this with the in dash Autometer vacum gauge and my Mac Tools hand held and do the math to Map. I think I will just wait for feedback if this value is correct.

The new def file has a offset of about 10 and slightly different multiplier, this is from a edit Eric did. It is different then the one that comes with tuner pro ver 4. If I don't hear different I will asume the map value is good.

I have had lock up and still do I used to have to remove the battery of the laptop to unlock. I upgraded to xp from windows 2000, big diference very few lock ups and if it does I just have to leave tuner pro and start back up, no hard booting any more. Ver 4 and xp has a odd glitch but nothing that makes it frustraiting I like the new version, and Mark is working on updates, I am happy but before I downloaded xp it did try the nerves.

The differences between the values seen in other ALDL programs all comes down to the ADS file (the ALDL datastream definition that TunerPro uses to interpret the datastream). Feel free to edit it to do the correct math. The 7730 ads file is riddled with errors.

Regarding Win98 crashes - I don't doubt there are many. Unfrotunately I don't test on Win98 as much as I should, and I'm not even currently set up to debug on it. This means when I do find a Win98 problem, I have to guess as to the cause. Not fun. On top of that, I hate Win98.

Crashes and such will continue to get better, but only if you report them. I need to hear about every crash, what OS, any related TunerPRo files you were using, and the exact steps to reproduce it.

Thanks!
