It's the sensors, that are challenging for hanging on a non-ABS car, IMO, that's challenging.
That's why I think comparing the vss to derived vehicle speed from an accelerometer would be the easiest even if you do have to spend the $30 for the circuit. I haven't tested it but with the speed at which the ecm operates it could be very effective on smooth surfaces. Once I get some of my other projects out of the way I'd like to develop code to utilize the accelerometer in said fashion.
