Looking for 6E source w/ notes (hack?)
Hi guys, I'm having small issues with the way the IAC is acting as a throttle follower on my 4 speed manual 327 TPI retrofit that does not use a VSS. Does anyone know the location for a 6E source code that is notated? I am specifically interested in just the IAC throttle follower routine (and any IAC related stuff) in the code. When I pull up to a light when the car is warm, the idle will sit at 1000 rpms for 15-20 seconds and then slowly fall back down to 800 (my target is 750 with a choppy hydraulic cam). Sometimes the idle doesn't make it back down to 800 unless you rev a couple times, then the IAC gradually lets it back down. I based my bin on a 1989 Corvette 6 speed manual. I have seen the hack of an $8 code, and it had, among other things, a section on IAC vs VSS speed throttle follower routine. I assume the 6E must be similar. I'm using Tunerpro to edit bins, by the way.

You may have a sticky throttle. I had something similar, and cured it with some lube on the throttle and moving back a notch on the cruise control thingamabob (which you probably don't have). Just something to check before you go too deep.

Hi there, the IAC is definitely my problem here, it is following the throttle and doesn't let off its last few follower counts quick enough for my liking (I think the IAC is actually sticking, since I have to key off sometimes when the idle hangs too high). But it's still holding IAC counts for too long, so I'm interested in seeing how the 6E source deals with the IAC as a follower. A commented 6E file would be wonderful.

The $6E IAC is probably identical to the $32B which is well hacked and documented. Called the BUA hack. It's out there somewhere. I think this website had a link, but I can't seem to open it here in China: http://www.geocities.com/ecmguy.geo/bruce/prog_101.html
Even the calibrations were the same for most routines, so, if you find what you want to edit, look for a similar pattern of numbers (in hex) in the $6E file, and add ECU items to be able to edit them.
Gotta go, I gotta watch this fight outside my window at the KTV next to my hotel.
Coulda been this site too, but it also doesn't work here:

Redngold, thanks!!!!!! I have the 32b hack documentation. I was thinking the same thing, check and compare to the 6E. Great to know that should get me to the info I'm looking for.

I believe there's a copy of the ARAP hack at ftp.diy-efi.org. Look in the uploads section for a file called ARAP-relocatable.

If you look at Craigs file section there is a $6E section that has documented code

The $6E hac isnt very complete (bit of an understatement) if I recall. I had to comment portions of the fueling routine myself when I went to look at it. There wasnt really even a hint there as to what the code did untill I went through it all. It should at least have the locations of the tables and constants for the throttle follower, though. I also beleive that the $6E may be substantially different then the $32, but I cant say for sure.
