Newbie needs direction
Hi! New to this board. I have a cheap laptop (toshiba ct 610) I got from eBay and a pocket programmer with a Moates connector and chips that I got on here from Kevin Crane. My problem is this: I can't get the chips to view as a text file. Only as a binary or hex file. I gave Kevin a call and he said I need gmepro and I could find it here. I can't seem to figure this out. Also, it needs to go on a floppy as that is all I have on my laptop. I hope it fits.
I will probably need more help as time goes on, I am pretty handy at most things but computers are tough for me.
Thanks, Mike

Don't expect to view the contents of a chip as a text file.
What you need is an editing program, to be able to make sense of the bin. GMEPRO is an old editor that runs under DOS. Does your laptop have windows? If so, I'd suggest TunerPro instead. The install file will fit on a floppy disk. You'll also need the appropriate .ecu file for your application, which you should be able to find either on the tunerpro site, or on Craig Moates' file manager site.
Try
http://www.supportfitness.com/mark/tunerpro/
http://www.moates.net/fileman/
Also, read through the sticky posts, especially https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=216664 if you haven't already.

That would be awesome if you could view it's programming as a text file. Then just add a line:
"MAKE CAR FASTER"
And all your problems would be solved.
