Need help with TunerPro
Well I tried burning my first chip and could not get TunerPro to save new VE. I changed some of the cells in the VE table and clicked on the save button right below the table and it would not save. Am I doing something wrong?

You then have to save your bin after your done changing everything. The save button at the bottom of the table is just for "keeping" your changes that you just made, if you make some changes that you don't like the looks of just close the table without hitting that particular save button and reopen to get back your old data.
I like to keep a running record of changes by saving the bin I'm changing to another number like BMmonte1, then BMmonte2 and so on. That way if I do something and totally mess the tune up I can just go back to a known good bin and go on from there.

I do the same thing with changing the filename each time, but in doing this you loose the info "log" file that is being created indicating what you changed.
If the file is kept the same the log will update.
I still make another numbered file to keep my head on straight as to where I was. (not always as easy as it sounds)

Simple solution to that is copy your current BIN name to the next BIN name. Then open up the new file name and make your changes. Everything will be in the new BIN's log file with the correct/matching filename.
So simple, but it still took me a couple of weeks to figure this one out. Never claimed to be the shiniest penny on the block...

OK. Opened VE table changed on of the values, clicked on save, went to file menu and clicked on save bin. Then exited program. Opened program again and then opened bin I just saved. Value that I changed was not saved. Is there a step I am missing.
The value is 50.00 and I am trying to change it to 50.07. Is the program rounding down to 50.00?

Yep thats your problem, you'll never be able to feel or see that small of a change. I would try 2% steps at a time. I usually do about 1.5% for every blm I'm off. What kind of problem are you trying to fix? Maybe we can give you some pointers.

I was using the correction table you sent me to fix my VE table. I was using the values the in the new VE table and some were just a few tenths difference and I was trying to put that in the cells. Thats all.
So you say if it needs to be changed I should try @ 2% change? That makes a little more sense since its pretty far off.

well if that particular cell isn't that far off then it probably doesn't need changing, but you need to take into acount the data your baseing your correction on, if you only got one or two data points for that cell, then maybe you didn't get a good reading. In simpler terms, use your best judgement, if all the other cells around that particular cell need major adjustment, then by all means change that one too. I use that excell file to make alot of changes fast, then I go back and manually smooth out the ve table, paying attention to where I didn't get good data.
Get a good feel for how to change things and once you start getting the hang of things we'll help you diagnose and fix your WOT fueling problems we alluded to in the other post. There are some things that are a little over your head at the moment that we can walk you through in order to see where your having problems.

I believe that in the lower rpm ranges I am running pretty rich. So in the lower rpm cells that don't get many reading or any at all could I throw in a number above 128, say like 130, to see how it runs?

If you are running rich in the lower RPM ranges and you don't get much data feedback there and feel you are running rich.
Presuming you are running a 730 ECM then you will have to lower the VE numbers a bit.
So if your current VE value at 20KPA and 1000rpm is 55 then lower it to say 50 for example.

He's running a 746, yeah AZ thats what I do if I want to change it in that accel file, I'll just look at the other blm averages around the particular cell in question and make an educated guess based on those, you can do the same thing by just going directly to tunerpro and changing it there, but it's some times easier to do it in that excel file. Keep in mind that if your not getting much blm data in that region then your not running there much. Also make sure you use the WIDE AVG setting in winaldl while your ruffing in your VE curve.
If there is anyone else that would like to try that file out let me know and I'll put it in the upload section of moates' website. It's basically a file that you enter your blm data from winaldl and your VE curves and it spits out a new VE curve based on that data, plus some cool graphing features. This program only works with 747 and 746 ecm's since the other ecm's use different sized tables for VE.
