MAF Translator?

Alright, here's what I'm wondering -

2.8 V6 MAF - 32Hz-150Hz output range. (am told it's calibrated for 150 g/s)
GN MAF - 32Hz - 150Hz output range. (calibrated for 255 g/s)

First - has anyone actually tried using a GN MAF on the V6s? It's actually CHEAPER than the stock one. Unfortunately, got to order it.

Now, a step above that, would be -

Any ideas on whether or not I could use this LT1 3" MAF in front of me, on the 2.8, with the MAF Translator for the GN? Does the GN ECU process the Fq range differently than the 302 ECU?

I'm thinking, as far as the GN MAF, that a complete recalibration of the MAF tables would be in order (duh). Now, I can't help but wonder if the GN ECU uses 6 MAF tables, as well. Could it be as simple as using the GN MAF table values, with the GN MAF? And if that works, how about using the MAF Translator Plus for the GN, with the LT1 3" MAF?

If anyone has a $T31 definition file, and a GN Bin, and wouldn't mind taking a look - I'd really appreciate it.

I'm just working on ideas here. Thoughts?

Aim higher, there is a $31 mask hac over on the GN web site.

My thoughts is running $58 and forego the MAF.

If your going to want the best of all worlds, then like RBob said the 58 is the way to go. Especially since there is actual Source Code for it.

Oh yes, I plan on an adapter, and '749 down the road. In the meantime, I'd like to continue my policy of avoiding the beaten path

I'll go grab the hac, and take a look through it. I'm just curious as to whether or not this might work - you have to admit, it would be much easier than repinning the harness.

As far as the MAFs go, a brand new GM LS1 frequency based MAF is 110 and change from gmpartsdirect. Youd need to use a translator/converter and redo your tables, of course. There are stock tables for almost all the LS1 mafs on various forums on the 'net. The LT1 MAF freq. output is similar but I havnt seen any tables for it yet.

I plan to get an LS1 MAF myself. At the very least it'll look cool in my engine compartment.

The LT1 MAF (brand new) is sitting in front of me. I've actually had it for some time, and don't remember why. So I thought I'd see if it were a possibility for the V6'ers out there

dude running a
GN maf will work fine. what youll need to do is change the table scalers and the actuall maf tables. but all in all itll work just fine.

yes you could use a translator and again rework the maf tables and scalars. if you want the ultimate in maf.
