Trying to datalog and I'm TOTALLY LOST!
OK, I got a chip that seems to run ok.
One quick question though, does it take our computers a few minutes to "learn" the new chip? Because when I first put the chip in, it ran like total crap, but after a few minutes it evened out pretty good.
Anyways. . . so I've got my little ALDL cable pluged into the E and A slots and I've got the program pulled up on the laptop. So I press the "datalogger" button and select "RAW data" then I hit the "start" button. I let this do whatever it is that it does for about 2 minutes, then I stop it. So now I have this file in a Notepad format that pretty much tells me nothing.
OK, so how the hell do I operate this program?

thanks for asking the Q. i have only saved my blm's KC's and then later read or printed them. that "raw" data stream could be useful to track the IAC counts for me. i discontinued datalogging awaiting "major changes" late this summer. fortunately i will have the wb02 to log tps/rpm/map data on the run when the mods are complete. still would like to have that running log of iac. maybe it is possibble? anyone????

If you're using winaldl, you will probably want to log the sensor data in addition to the raw data.
I usually will use microsoft word to view, sort, and organize the file. Then if I want to see graphs or do head to head comparisons of different stats, I will save the data as a comma-delimiting file (*.csv), and use PAnalyzer to view it. It's a free program available for dowload at Craig's site.

The tune is probably off enough to run crappy in openloop, but when it goes closed loop it is close enough to compensate for the errors in the burn. That would explain the crappy running for the first couple minutes at least

I'am glad to hear that you like it.
Comments like that makes it all worth spreading the
software free instead of keeping it to personal use
I'am always interested in new ideas and general
opinions of the software, so you few guys that use my program
feel free to leave me feedback using my feedback form:

or from the link at the official homepage: http://peter.kod.nu/panalyze

The reason it "smoothed" out is because when the ECM went into closed loop and the ECM began to control the fuel based on the O2 sensor reading.
Work the VE Tables a bit more.
