Data Logging using ALDU1 and TunerPro RT
Just as the topic says, I'm using (or trying to use) the Moates serial to USB adapter (ALDU1) and TunerProRT. I have a Sony laptop with Windows XP. I'm trying to connect to a '91 Z28 L98 (7730 ECM). Nothing seams to work. I've searched the boards, and nothing that's been posted has worked for me. I've downloaded to drivers for the ALDU1 and installed them as directed. I'm attempting to use COM 3, and both the ALDU1 driver and TunerProRT are configured to use COM 3. This is getting extremly frustrating. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Brandon

When you plug the cable in, does the new (virtual) COM port show up in the device manager?
Are you sure you have the driver setup to use COM3? What happens if you try COM4 (configuring it such in both the driver and in TunerPro)?

I tried COM 4 with no luck. I got desperate and tried a demo version of Datamaster. At first I wasn't having any luck with it either, but using the "Test COM" button I was able to get it to connect using COM 1. Following the instructions from the failed "Test COM" attempts and using my highly technical skills I wiggled the ALDL connector and it connected. Talk about feeling dumb. Don't worry though you all have nothing to worry about I only work on missiles for a living.... wait a minute? I haven't seen a virtual COM port show up, so I would guess that I haven't been making a connection using TunerPro RT. I haven't tried to see if I can get it to work yet because my laptop battery died. As soon as this thing recharges I will give it a try, and let you know if I have it to working. Thank you all for your input I really appreciate it.
