Buying AT29C256 EEPROM's
Just wondering where I might be able to come up with some AT29C256 EEPROM's in my area, would a computer/electronics(Radio Shack?) type place be the most likely to carry them?
I'd buy some from Moates.net, but I'm hoping to hit the track for Friday, and I'd like to swap a different BIN by then to see what kind of difference it makes.

We have a large electronics warehouse local by the name of Mainline Electronics, some place like that would probably be your best bet. The only downside to these type places is they usually have a minimum order $$$. I think it's $25 at our place.
Every time I've gone to radioshack looking for something like that, they either don't carry it and can't get it, or they don't carry it and have to special order it. If you can't find any local specialty warehouses, you could give em a try, but I doubt they'd have it.

http://www.jdr.com/interact/item.asp?itemno=gr-atmel
extra charge if you don't make the minimum order amount. worth the $5 for their speediness.

Package style, you need the DIP not the PLCC.
Jameco's never had them that I know of. They are getting a little harder to find, but there are still a few vendors that will stock them. Better check on stock before you order though, many vendors are perpetually out...

Unfortunately I am neither on the West nor the East coast, I am in between in the middle of nowhere(Praries )
I'm going to see if there are any decent electronics places nearby, if I can't get one for tomorrow, then I'll just order online from somewhere and wait till they get here.
Thanks for the help guys,
-Dustin

You guys must not read other posts
The PC is a DIP package in the commercial temperature range (0c to 70c)
The PI is a DIP package in the industrial temperature range (-40c to 80c). My preference is the PI device.
Also note that the -20 parts are slower and are cheaper. And plenty fast for a C3 or P4 ECM.
AT29C256-20PI @ $3.32US each, but non-stock at DigiKey.
RBob.

Thanks for the update, when you are in a hurry, not much time to search!
I didn't even have time to stop by any electronics places today, so I think I'll get a baseline of what my car runs with the ADS Superchip in it now, and then get some track times once I get a few PROM's ordered.
