Can't find the 12 pin DLC on my car
I have a 1991 firebird with a 305 TBI engine she threw a code today getting on the freeway and the check engine light stayed on untill I stoped at the gas station to fill up and then started out again. On my 86 I had the the 12 pin connector was on the right of the steering colume under the dash I can't seam to locate one in this car, and all my searches on here have brought up nothing but how to check for codes and what the codes are. I hope my car is not one of the cars that just does not have it, then what do I have to do take it to a shop for them to read my codes!? I miss my 86 right now.

Your ALDL port should be right under the steering columb under the dash area. It is very easy to see. Autozone can scan the code and tlel you what it means.

Ok I will look in the fuse panel because its not anywhere else, I used to scan the codes on my 86 all the time with a paper clip when it would act up

Did you find your aldl connection? If not it should be directly behind the fuse panel. I know on my camaro it is hard to see because the fuse panel dosen't want to stay in the locked position or up out of the way like it should (it hinges down for easier access). It there you just have to look real hard.
