Full Data Reading

Have 6299 ECM A179 Datastream, using WinALDL scan software. It will read data, but on the RPM & MPH, on @ a 0-50 run the RPM's recording reads low 20's - maybe reach 100, MPH no readings. WinALDL does not list the 6299 ECM on thier choices but has the A179 datastream listed for the 4288.which is the ECM # I use to recieve data. Would this have any effect on any of the data recordings, whether true or false? Thanks

Right. Got that. ;-) No idea what you're asking.

In WinALDL software where you, pick, the ECM # you have, mine,
16146299 is not listed as a choice. After doing an exstensive search on this, and other sites, back through many"archives" some kind souls told me that the 4288 ECM shares the same datastream as the 6299, mine. When finally, anxious and able, to hook up and download data, by golly, I got some, don't understand most of it, but got some. But, the 2 things in which I would think would be very important, MPH and RPM, readings are missing. MPH completely,RPM's read starting in low"Twentys" and build up to, maybe 100. Did not know if having to use the 4288 in order to record data would have this effect on it. Seems the 6299 ECM is a rather oddball bast--- . Not much info, and yes like I stated, "archives" thier printed out, stacked..... abt. 4in. and going. I am rather gun-shy abt. posting a ?, don't want to ask twice. NOT givin up. Thanks for your gracious time, *** Bless

ah, ok. so my guess would be that in fact the applications don't share the same datastream. if you're getting consistent data, but consistent *incorrect* data, you can probably safely assume you're not interpretting the data with the correct stream template.

your question is a good one. its just that you didn't word it very clearly. Thats all.
