Help! having problems not sure why.
After burning a 1/2 dozen chips I cannot seem to get the 512k chips to work. Trying to use ARAP bin. Using a PPII and set the offset to 0c000 still no go used tuner pro bin stacker NO go .. Maybe something is wrong with the bin. after reviewing tunerpro tried to reburn both ways with vats (both locations)checked and vats not checked. Car ran for 3 seconds then just cranked.
Finally The PPII crapped out .. for some strang reason checkout this error I got from PPII
By the way I am new to posting on the board but have followed for a few months .. Thanks Scott

from the screen you provided you still have 27C128 selected as the chip type. you need to select the appropriate chip before you burn to the chip. also, be sure the chip is erased before hand.

Actually that was just the screen capture I did at that time.. I was checking to see if the prom selection had anything to do with it.(great catch). The errors seem to happen when I try and load the bin file. for the 512 and even 2732 now....
I've talked with the folks at PPII we are doing a swap for the PPI figuring the burner may have an issue.
The big question is why the 27sf512 will not work in place of the stock 27c128's is there a special adaptor. I notice if you review the pinout's for the eprom's that the 512 has A15 in a place where the 128 has vpp (the programming voltage)
I am using the JET memcal adaptor

I think that maybe I've got it
Can someone that burns this chip for the 165 or 7730 that uses the PPII tell me Do you enter 0c000(165) in the buffer start BOX or the device start BOX
Thanks I hope I found it ... entering in the device start box instant error .. enter 0c000 into the buffer start box no problems...
Try it !

depends on whats in the buffer.
if your bin is the stock 16kbyte bin, buffer offset should be $0000 (since the bin starts at the beginning of the buffer). if you're burning a 32kbyte chip, the device offset should be $4000. 64kbyte chip, the device offset should be $C000. etc.
