Romulator and Datamaster running at the same time.
I didn't think it would work but the setup is running fine.
I am using an IBM Thinkpad 380XD running at 366 with 64MB and
Win98. Running Datamaster on the com port and the Romulator
on the USB port with Grumpy's recommendation of the Radio Shack
USB to Serial adapter.
The only hiccup I have found is when I load an entire bin into the
Romulator while the car is running. It tries to die but playing with
the gas pedal a bit will keep it running.
If anyone interested in tuning can spare the money then the
Romulator should be the ONLY tool considered. After about 30
chips with the record, go home, review, edit, and burn routine I
thought I was close on my VE tables. Then after about an hour of
quality time with the Romulator I realized I was out of injector.
Today I installed 24# Fords which recalculate to 25# at 43.5 lbs
of fuel pressure and I know I can get it dialed back in a fraction
of the time it took before.
