Limp home mode.
Just curious about something when the puter is in limp home mode. Today I finally got arround to upgrading my iroc's puter to the '730 from the '165. In my laziness I didn't feel like jacking the car up to install the new knock sensor so the puter is spitting out a code 43. Anyways, I hooked the laptop up to it just to see how everything else was doing and to make sure that they were reading correctly. Which they are. The one thing that I did notice tho is how slowly the data was updating. I know in the past on other '730 cars the data is updated prudy quickly. Just for curiostiy sakes, I'm wondering at what speed the aldl is spitin out data in limp home mode? Or I prolly hooked up the Ruse cable to the worng pin.... lol
Thanks
Kat

you might want to check out the refresh rate in the chip. Look under the constants in TC and check out what your BLM update rate is. Mine is at 2 seconds.
but like you mentioned before, you could be tapped into the wrong wires on the ALDL from the conversion

in limp in mode the ECM just switches over to a fixed fuel delivery and spark timing. It does nothing with the sensor info it might be receiving.

It's strange. In my car, at limp home mode, nothings happens with the scanner. No data from ALDL.
Limp home mode (730 ECM) = ECM + memcal - PROM.
It's O.K.?
