Questions about EBL software/hardware. Not actual "tuning"
I've been reading for the last few hours, (actually weeks) and my eyes and brain hurt, so pardon me if I missed some obviously available info. One search after another, but there's just too much to ever read it all.... anyhow, I'm considering the EBL Flash as opposed to using the Autoprom
OK, Basics.
Currently have a 89 L98/165ecm.
-I would need a new ECM from DynamicEFI with EBL Flash and the port mod, right? -To continue running my TPI?
-and I would need some minimal rewiring for the MAF to MAP, right? Other than that, when it arrives, I could plug in and be ready to tune? (after loading calibrations etc. etc.)
The tuning itself is scary enough, I wanna be sure I fully understand the hardware!

Are there instructions one repinning the harness? I think (if we're talking about the same thing) I saw some people ask you in another thread, and you emailed them? Maybe? ....I scoured the DynamicEFI site, but maybe it's not on there either.
...also, I was considering sourcing an ECM and having you install the EBL, but it only looks to be $50 cheaper. For that difference, I'll buy the whole unit, unless there's something I'm missing???

When you get the new computer you will need to repin the computer harness. There are instructions on what pins to move that come with the system. It isn't hard, I took a paper clip then hit it with a hammer and had a easy pinning tool. Take your time pulling one pin at a time and being sure that they are locked in place after moving it to the new position. Here is the web page on how to move the pins:

I went ebl, Its really a simple swap. The instructions are good and the forum is great for questions.

I love my EBL. The repin was easy, the data logging software is easy to setup and the online support is great.
