L98 w/ T56 Tune Options
Ok, so on my newest project, 87 GTA. It has stock L98 (basically) with a T56 swap installed. Car has a chip in it currently but I am wondering of the Tune options for this set up. i know that this being done quite often, so I was hoping for a little direction to get started
As mentioned in other post, simply looking to get current car and set up running correctly and well prior to any actual upgrades (which would effect tuning later)
But currently the chip is set up $6e mask for 89 5.7 TPI APYU auto BCC and 89 Corvette 5.7 TPI 6spd APYP.
EGR disabled
AIR disabled
CCP disabled
Fan on/off 180/170 for 160Thermostat
350 with 22# injectors
Manual Trans
This is all the information i have on the tune, I do see the 9th injector disabled as well( so no cold start) which i think Ive already found on another post that to be deleted per tune.
Any input would be great.
Also what is
APYU and APYP stand for ?
And does any of the above effected or effecting AIT?
Thanks....still tryn to fig out whats what with the new project

Your best option is to get the right equipment and do the tuning yourself.

They are known as the broadcast code (BCC) that ID's the calibration. In such as to what year(s) it was used, when it was released, in which ECM, and for which vehicle and drivetrain.

Re: L98 w/ T56 Tune Options
I would be greatly interested in which bin file would be a good base to start from with a L98 and a T56 also... this is my next upgrade on my Trans Am...only concern is the 6 speed trans versus the optioned 5 speed available in code...
Suggestions are always appreciated...

Most folks will end up either running an auto BIN as-is, or possibly do some tuning to it. This is the DIY_PROM board.

I worked with a vette bin that was for their manuals, similar to ARAP but setup for manual not auto. Forget the name i have to go back thru my notes and emails. That APYP may be it. Good place to start.
Or use a 305 manual bin and copy over the 350 settings.
From there basic tune things like fuel trims and timing is about all you need to play with

put
site:thirdgen.org t56 prom
into google. Comes up with an assload of info. I am going to be swapping soon and I think I'm going to start with the APYP as it is for an 89 vette w/ MAF. My question (without having to start a new thread) would be, can you copy the spark tables and AFR from the AUJM to the APYP? Would that defeat the purpose of using the APYP bin in the first place? Besides the oil temp sender, what else would be mandatory to change before running the car to fine tune?
