Re: TBI megasquirt question

When you first turn on the key with Megasquirt, you should hear the fuel pump run the 3 sec priming pulse and have the first LED light during this time. Then when cranking the first LED will flash as each bank of injectors fires. This is your first indicator that everything is hooked up and running properly.

Re: TBI megasquirt question

It depends on which version of Megasquirt you are using, but in general your first stop for information should be the Megamanual. They have extremely helpful wiring diagrams there to help you figure out if you have yours setup correctly.

i'm using microsquirt, no lights to check, megasquirt isn't running the fuel pump, basically Microsquirt won't read RPM's before the engine is running.

Re: TBI megasquirt question

All I can say is go through the megamanual then, and look on the megasquirt forums. There are plenty of extremely knowledgeable people there more than willing to help you. I only have experience with MS-1, so my help is limited. I myself got help on the megasquirt forums when I first got my car running.

I didn't run 2 very long before jumping to 3, but if 2 has it you might see if there is a feature to lower the rpms for cranking. I had to lower mine to 300 I think.

How do you have it wired ?

Pin 31 goes to dizzy HIGH,
Pin 20 (sensor ground) goes to dizzy LO
Pin 12 goes to EST control
Pin 11 goes to EST BYPASS

That worked for me on a 8 pin HEI (small cap TBI/TPI dizzy).
