Accel Gen 7 + smog pump
Does the factory ECU control the smog pump valves? If so, I'm guessing my Accel Gen 7 probably doesn't. Or is the smog pump valve controlled by some temperature sensor and doesn't need the ECU to function properly?
Any information would be useful. If the smog pump is useless with my Accel Gen 7 I may as well not put it back on....

Re: Accel Gen 7 + smog pump
Yes, the factory ECU does control the smog pump. And the smog pump isn't entirely useless. It just doesn't do anything but vent to atmosphere when the car is operating temp. It is possible to program one of the unused aux signals on the Gen 7 to run the smog pump but you'll have to sort that out by trial and error when programming the unit.
If you live in Cali, how are you planning on passing emissions with this setup?
I took mine off when I put the Gen 7 on but kept the parts for the visual when I did take it in for emissions testing in AZ. After it barely squeaked through (no-Air, no EGR, not a lot of CAT), I put it on limited use collector coverage and just don't get it tested any more. But I probably don't put 1000 miles a year on the car either.

Re: Accel Gen 7 + smog pump
I suppose I could hard wire it for closed loop mode so it puts fresh air to the cat to reduce CO.
For the non working EGR issue, people have welded an air passage tube from the exhaust tubes to the intake to reduce NOX for the smog test also.
