EBL P4 Flash
I have been looking at buying the EBL P4 flash that is already installed in a ECM and ready to go. I just installed a Procharger P600 on my '91 Z28 with a 355 that has Trickflow G2 heads, cam, TPI intake, 24lbs bosch 3's. The car ran great before the blower with a PCM for less chip. I want to run a larger injector and get rid of the FMU. From what I have read the EBL can be hooked to a lap top and run in real time. I don't want to do the chip burning deal. I have never done any tuning, but I understand A/F ratios, spark, and what makes a good tune. I have a F.A.S.T. wideband installed in the car. From what I understand I will need a bin to get the car running, then can tune from that? The EBL can read boost if I switch to a 2 bar MAP? Can it do any self tuning?

Just to be sure, you can't change the tune in real time. The EBL units are flash based. So it takes a few seconds to update the calibration. The other side of the coin is that it doesn't require a battery to maintain the calibration. Can unplug the ECM and place it on the garage shelf for ten years and the calibration is still there.
Real time changes: there are eight calibration banks in the EBL Flash products. Can load eight different calibrations and switch between them in real time. Switching between calibrations is seamless and can be done with the engine running (real time).
The FAST WB unit works with the EBL. The WB can also be used for auto VE learns.

The EBL P4 system is supplied with a handful of calibrations. Four of which are for TPI vehicles.

Yes, for up to 15 psi of boost. A 3-bar will handle up to 30 psi of boost. This is for spark retard versus boost, and a fuel multiplier versus boost.
Note that an FMU causes the injectors to flow more fuel as boost increases. Without it one needs to run the proper size injectors for the required HP. A side affect, is that without an FMU the fuel pump/filter can deliver more fuel. As the fuel pressure is increased (via an FMU), the ability of the system to deliver fuel is decreased.

There is the auto VE Learn. Then for items such as knock retard the What's Up Display (WUD) shows where and by how much in the SA table that knock is occurring. This makes it easy for the tuner to target the proper area of the SA table to eliminate knock retard.

Re: EBL P4 Flash
Thanks Rbob. Seems like it is pretty easy to use. I think I'll get some bigger injectors and give it a try.
