Re: how to view data
Assuming by your user name you can scan the TBI ECMs with WinALDL. Can find it here directly from the developer:

Re: how to view data
I am TBI L03 Caprice 1993 and site say 90 caprice tbi
but have been looking around and see videos with 93 caprice in them using winadll program. probably the site has not been updated.
I'm just trying to view data mostly
going to get this cable: http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1u
hope this works for me and is compatible with winadl. I downloaded to software and it has no provision for my ecm

Re: how to view data
93, I've seen some videos floating around with 93's using the program though and tuner pro i believe as well so everything should work out fine.
Are there any threads with a more in depth info of the data i will see?

Re: how to view data
Although, that isn't entirely true. You can place a short or 10K resistor across the A&B terminals of the ALDL plug to command certain ECM modes. However, it is recommended that the vehicle not be driven when in a diagnostic mode.

From Tunercat.... $62 16136965 91- 93 Caprice, LB4, L03 & L05 Eng
I dont see on winALDL site a 6965 as supported?
But TP RT supports it.... $62 16136965 62.xdf 62.ads

Re: how to view data
Shorting A & B together doesn't do this. And with the engine running blinks the SES for rich/lean. In this mode the car can be driven.

Re: how to view data
Those logs I can never fiqure out how to read. Columns do not line up for me. I would like to know how to do so....
my prior experience with winALDL was to look at the flags and witness it is in closed loop, review 02 sensor function, battery voltage, basically see if anything looks out of norm. More importantly I was looking at BLM "wide average" "wide latest" and determine if BLM reads are out of norm. I then adjusted VE to get closer to 128. also I recall it shows any knock and retard. But that may be mechanical so be aware.
What do you see in those areas?
That is pretty much it. you need to datalog at all RPMs and all MAP. To do so consider running engine in all gears and hold high RPM till you get a read. Maybe 5 secs. Find a long hill maybe 45d incline to hit higher map areas.

Re: how to view data
plenty of clear flood/not closed loop flags, blm enable flags, closed loop, rich flag-is on or off but 60%on
, DRP occurs most of the run
If you have excel or works just download and right click and open file with one of those
