Re: timing

Is your distributor cap separate from your coil? if it is then the ignition module underneath the distributor cap has two plugs, I believe you unplug the first one to the left... you will notice a decrease in rpm and your idle will be noticeably different...

Re: timing

what does w/cab mean?

I thought there was a yellow/brown wire on firewall near brake booster. It protrudes out of wire harness with a male/female. Disconneting removes control from ECU. Initial spark timing I recall is somewhere on a label under hood for you car/motor. Mine I recall was 6 dSA.

I believe he meant Carb...

you know on the actual prep work, on mine I have to either ground the ECM at the diagnostic port, or pull the connector from the ignition module...

Re: timing

cant find yellow/brown as I stated? Is your dist stock controlled by ECU(rpm/map referenced)? Or is it traditional mechanical centifugal/vac?

Re: timing

For a CCC large cap distributor it is what chads89ta posted. There should be a 4-wire connector near the base of the distributor. The wires exit from the distributor at the base of the cap. Disconnect the 4-wire connector to put the distributor into bypass mode.

RBob.
