Re: whos still doing custm chips for 3rd gen's
I got a base bin from PCMforless. It got the car running good enough to drive around but WOT was way off. Idle needed a good bit of work too as well as overall timing table but thats expected.
This was a pretty hot 383 stealth ram motor with a MAF sensor system using 6E AUJL bin as a starter. I took their basebin and tweaked from there. Figured it would be a better place to start than stock bin and it was.
Not really sure who else is doing them. Fastchip may be. TPIS still does but havent heard too much good from them. Was a guy on corvetteforum doing some burns for the C4 guys which have similar setups to us. He was decent, forget his name tho. Think it was Mseven or something like that

used lingenfelter/ Hipertech back in 93. to do the chip in my car now.
runs fine. that was with the 383. the facrty chip piggy backed it as well.
and has the NOS set up on the chip (fogger)
and runs a MAP.
just gone up in CUBES is all (427)..using all the same parts.(list below)
could have gone bigger same price for parts.. but always wanted that 427 thing..and did not wana push my luck with my old chip.
and parts
new dart block. (going to redo the old bowtie block for back up)
11.5.1
mech roller cam ( 232/236 @50 563/586 (20/22 lash)good cam
gear drive
heads
oil pan
winage tray
30lb injtrs (52 psi) that was on the 383) ran fantastic going to send them out and have them cleaned. and flow checked.
remember this was all done by Lingenfelter..ran fantastic right from start up!
dont think ill have any thing pop up..just need to know who i can go to. if i do need a new chip....
back in 92 this was all new stuff..now it's old school..
(but still FAST!)
best time was a 10.34 with the NOS. 60 foot was 1.54
im up in the Hill's WA state
a few of the new parts
flexplate (for inturn bal)
fluid damper (inturn bal) (i like them)
the old one is for sale extrn bal fluid damper (for the 400sbc)
and flex plate also sfi crt.
bigger better headers 2210's CC

Re: whos still doing custm chips for 3rd gen's
if you have a base chip that runs ok at the moment, all you really need to do at this point is to get your own equipment and do some runs with the scanner and then make new changes to the current tune. Thats if you can read whats on the chip from lingenfelter. If you can then your only a few changes away from having a great tune. Mail order is nice at times but never fully accurate. Just the way it is. Especially if the tune you have is for a 383 and now you have 427! So much more to be gained. I bet you can pick up a few tenths easily with a proper tune and maybe break 9.99 on that setup
